The Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) is an industry method of evaluating and measuring the overall cost of a risk management program. This method has proven to be subjective and somewhat inaccurate.

Ben Few & Company, Inc. has developed a similar process, Cost of Risk Expense (CORE), which encompasses a larger scope of measurement resulting in a more effective outcome.

The CORE program is used to initiate, monitor, and manage long term, in-house risk management procedures and programs. CORE ratio is an ongoing measurement of these customized risk management procedures. The lower your ratio, the more cost effective your program becomes.
